Zum Geburtstag viel Glück

Here's your translation:

Zum Geburtstag viel Glück,
Zum Geburtstag viel Glück,
Zum Geburtstag lieber Allan,
Zum Geburtstag viel Glück.

So that's the German version of the Happy Birthday song. Viel Glück means good luck. However, it is very common that Germans also sing the English version.

If just say happy birthday zu someone, without singing, you'd say

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, or herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag.

You are right, that's another lovely birthday song. When a group of people sing this, it is often performed as a canon.

The translation doesn't rhyme and doesn't fit to the tune, but here it is.
