German rail pass for US citizens

Can you buy a twin German rail pass at the train station or should I buy it online from the United States?
My parents are leaving for Germany on 10/13/2010. Do we need to order the German rail pass online and have it overnighted or can they buy them at the Würzburg Hbf station?

While German rail passes for European residents are usually available at train stations in Germany, residents from the US and other non-European countries can buy rail passes only in DB travelcentres in major cities like Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin etc.
So for people living outside of Europe it is better to purchase their German Rail Pass online, and passes for other countries as well.
